For years, the color red had a predominant place in our Christmas decorations, either as ornaments or as decorative accents. However, this year we are stepping out of our comfort zone to try on an all-black Christmas inspired by modern Scandinavian decorations, in which we add gold and copper with elegance. With Christmas Eve approaching, here are some inspirations for a black and natural Christmas centerpiece DIY, where the Christmas garland sets the tone !
Material for the garland :
Step 1 : place the garland in the center of the table
First, place a Christmas garland in the center of the table horizontally (as a table runner). It will be the base for your candle holders and decorative accents. To keep it for more than one season, consider choosing an artificial Christmas garland! Also, for a fuller effect, you can use two garlands side by side, as we did below. Are you in a festive mood? Choose a pre-lit garland !
Step 2 : decorate your garland with ornaments and pine cones
Finally ready to decorate your garland? Make some Christmas baubles groupings for an interesting and natural result! For example, this trio composed of a velvet ball, a copper pine cone and a birch ball is an eye-catcher for a unique centerpiece. You can make 3 groupings: in the middle, as well as at each end of the table. The idea is to always control the amount of ornaments so you don’t end up with a too extravagant table decoration. If you feel like it, you could also integrate eucalyptus stems!
Step 3 : add some holiday accents and accessories
Last but not least, the addition of matte black candle holders and Christmas accessories will make all the difference. In this Christmas table setting, gold accents are in the spotlight! Whether it’s a copper tabletop tree or gold lantern holders, they will bring warmth to your holiday party. We’re also loving this gold bauble holder with its shiny black ornament!
