Every year, our home experts discuss the new design trends coming up. It’s no secret that many styles will be replaced by more modern ones! Discover here the 13 trends that will be IN or OUT this year 2023.
IN - Brass is back
Remember that last year, the color gold was very popular in home decor accents. It’s now brass that seems to be coming back in force with its antique feel! Whether it is in the choice of faucets, lighting fixtures, planters, candle holders or cabinet handles, brass will be seen in all its forms.

OUT - Minimalist white decor
Although the white minimalist design with straight lines has long been popular, it seems to be slowly fading away in favor of rounder shapes. Cooler colors are giving way to warmer tones and more natural materials. We now prefer warm spaces, where we want to spend time with family and friends while being comfortable.

IN - Warmed-up neutrals
This year, the great return of earthy colors will be amazing to beat the winter blues ! You will see white walls repainted with a warmer beige color. Also, brown wood furniture, worked stone, orange cushions, branches of green leaves and cream vases will be part of this trend.

OUT - Wholesale and bulk decorations
This year, we are saying goodbye to cheap and poor quality products! There is nothing better than to encourage small local businesses. Go for unique and original products sold in limited quantites. No more products sold on shelves, we choose quality products that are a little more expensive, but way more sustainable.

IN - Indoor trees
Indoors trees and plants will be so popular in 2023! We feel a true reconnection with nature, by looking at the rise of plants in our homes like ficus, olive and laurel trees. Variegated houseplants are also increasingly used in our spaces to add texture. Think about the balfour aralia, cordyline and bicolored ficus!

OUT - Boho decor
After several years in the spotlight, the bohemian look is gradually losing popularity. The repeated use of macramé, rattan and layered textiles in the same room seems to have caused its decline. Like the farmhouse style, the boho chic is evolving into a more sophisticated version that is balanced and less cluttered.

IN – Perfect imperfections
The most beautiful things are often made of small perfect imperfections ! This year, we embrace the flaws by using unique and handmade products in our homes. Say goodbye to sleek and dull decorations, we are looking for movement, texture and natural materials inspired by the japandi style.

OUT - Pop-art trend
This trend hasn’t stuck around despite experiencing a resurgence in the last two years. Featuring very bright colors, such as yellow, pink, blue and green, this style is the opposite of the warm and neutral colors suggested this year. We prefer more sober and neutral shades that will remain a safe bet over time!

IN – Concrete planters
Nothing compares to the unfinished, earthy look of concrete! It is now used in so many ways, from sinks, countertops, planters, table lamps and decorative bowls. Previously used in more industrial settings, concrete is now the dominant material in our indoor spaces.

OUT - Farmhouse decor
Please note that we are not talking about farmhouse chic, but about faux farmhouse. The advanced farmhouse style is far from cliché and rather sophisticated. The one that will definitely take the door is the one composed of faded white wood furniture, antique advertising signs, black and white checkered pillows and galvanized metal pots.

IN – Moody space
The moody decor is here to stay, bringing with it a stylish and inviting atmosphere! Recognized by its dark colors and silky materials, it’s a unique style that no one will be able to live without this year. To recreate this decor, get green plants, flowers, amber glass vases, candles and antique decor accents like earth globes.

OUT - Maximalist decor
The maximalist decor known for its profusion of prints, decorative objects and contrasting hues does not appear to be as popular in 2023! We prefer neutral and sober colors. Goodbye wallpaper, knick-knacks and curtains with busy patterns.

IN – Mid-century decor
This style coming from the mid-1930s has been making a comeback over the past year. It features furniture with rounded corners, green plants, bold colors and geometric shapes. Combining functionality with durability, the mid-century style will once again be very popular at the beginning of the year.
