Creating a bouquet that looks like it’s been freshly picked may seem like an easy thing to do, but there are three rules of composition that we suggest you follow to get the perfect imperfect bouquet!
Step 1. Tall flower stems
First, pick some tall stems as they will give height to your bouquet.
In the bouquet above, you can go for three white astilbes (or white salvia), a perennial flower which you see a lot of once the warm weather hits.
Step 2. Focal point
Next, you’ll choose the focal point. Aim for flowers that will attract the gaze. It can be one flower of considerable size, or a smaller bouquet of the same type of flower.
To create a bouquet, opt for pretty white daisies to create a soft overall look. White daisies also make the bouquet look like it was freshly picked in a field.
Step 3. Filler florals
Finish off your bouquet with filler florals which will serve to add volume. Your fillers can be all be different, but you should stay within three different types of florals.
For example, you can choose purple agapanthus (or lilac flowers), branches of blueberries (or echinopsis), as well as a small bouquet of soft green gypsophila.
Simply tie it all together with a ribbon or rope and you have a custom bouquet!
Step 4. Choosing the right colors for your bouquet
In terms of colors, you should always pick a palette that is composed of less than three colors – green is an exception to the rule. Go for complimentary colors ! Pick different types of greenery to add texture to your artificial flower bouquet.
If you feel like adding some punch to your bouquet of flowers, go for a focal point in a different color from the rest of your bouquet. For example: a bouquet of pink roses and yellow orchids with a fuchsia dahlia stem.
Artificial is an undeniable advantage
Go faux! When you choose artificial flowers, you have access to a wide range of flowers that are always in season! Artificial flowers also won’t wilt, and will always have enough body to stand straight and proud in a vase.
