Last September 14th, Décors Véronneau’s team came together to help maintain and plant trees for the West Island Crisis Centre. More than 16 native species were planted to reforest the space and make a positive difference in the lives of residents! Find out more about our collaboration with Tree Canada and how this initiative fits in with our desire to reduce our carbon footprint while promoting local biodiversity.
An eco-responsible approach
Every environmental action matters at Décors Véronneau. In collaboration with Tree Canada, we have taken up the challenge of improving the local ecosystem in Quebec, by getting directly involved in concrete initiatives.

« We’ve contributed to the One Tree Planted organization in the past, but we wanted to go one step further and participate in local tree planting. It’s been a fantastic opportunity to get engaged as a group and observe directly the advancements we’ve made in our area. »
– Josiane Yelle, Marketing Manager at Décors Véronneau

This project demonstrates Décors Véronneau’s commitment to sustainable development and highlights the company’s efforts to offer high-quality decorative products while lowering its environmental effect through action support and environmental advocacy.
Véronneau: Tree Canada supporter
Tree Canada, the only national non-profit organization dedicated to the planting and care of trees across the country, plays an essential role in the protection and revitalization of urban and rural green spaces.
In addition to restoring forest cover in areas affected by natural disasters, Tree Canada helps communities manage their urban forests. They also support over 700 school greening projects and organize national conferences dedicated to the urban forest.

By partnering with Tree Canada, Décors Véronneau had the opportunity to contribute to these important efforts and take concrete action to preserve ecosystems while improving the living spaces of local communities.
Environmental and social impact of the event
The mission of this event was clear: to improve the living environment of the West Island Crisis Center, an organization that helps adults in crisis or emotional distress.

By planting trees, Décors Véronneau’s team not only helped to enhance the site, but also reduced noise pollution by creating a natural barrier against noise from the adjacent boulevard. In addition, planting of native trees enhanced local biodiversity, while providing a calming, more pleasant setting for residents in crisis.

In addition, the crew attended an arboricultural session on proper planting procedures and assisted with the removal of invasive species and plant management on the site.
Towards a greener future
In all, over 22 employee volunteers from all departments (production, installation, marketing, warehouse, commercial design and office) took part in the event. Owner Guy Véronneau and General Manager Solange Belzile also took part in the planting.

This initiative with Tree Canada marks an important step in Décors Véronneau’s commitment to the environment. But it’s only the beginning!
Together, we believe that every tree planted represents another step towards a more sustainable and harmonious future. Décors Véronneau is proud to be part of this growing green movement, and we hope to continue inspiring other companies to commit to similar environmental initiatives.
