If you’re not the flower type, the palm tree is most definitely the plant version of the popular hibiscus and geranium floor planter. For those who have trouble keeping it healthy and beautiful while it’s in a pot – and there are many of us! – artificial palms are certainly the solution, especially since they will convince the most skeptical with their natural and realistic look.

Areca palms are certainly the ones we see the most when the summer season takes off. Synonymous with vacation for the most part, they blend in perfectly with any style of decor simply by matching them with the right outdoor planters. Their lush foliage creates an exotic effect at first glance. Several sizes are available.

Although these outdoor palms can be kept in our homes, many natural areca palm enthusiasts must resort to buying new plants every season. This is because it is difficult to maintain their healthy and vigorous appearance after a winter spent indoors in a much drier environment. It is therefore suggested that you purchase an artificial palm tree from the first season.

The phoenix palm

The phoenix palm is the best option if you enjoy tropical terraces. This variety of palm tree is the embodiment of “the palm tree”: a long, slender, fibrous and rough trunk at the summit of which lies a crown of many saturated green palms. Additionally, Véronneau’s artificial palms are guaranteed for two years against discoloration induced by ultra-violet rays. When mounted in the right planter, phoenix palms can provide a lovely haven of greenery to take leisure in during these serene summer days.

The cycas palm

Mistakenly considered a member of the palm family because of the shape of its foliage and trunk, the cycas is still the third most widely adopted variety. For the same reasons as above and because it is very slow growing when natural, the artificial cycas palm is a good seller.

You’ll mainly find the artificial cycas in small planters – real mini-palm trees! – that will act as the perfect element in a floor planter or a green box. Because of their size, they are perfect when placed in a border because they fill a lot of space without hiding the other plants that make up the flower box.

Do you like this last idea? There are also artificial areca palm stalks that compliment balcony planters well. You could even blend the two varieties to provide a hint of depth with the light leaves of one and the darker foliage of the other. Finally, note that these stems are also fantastic choices in hanging baskets. With an orange hibiscus bush, it’ll feel like holiday at home! – We promise.
