Step 1 : install privacy trellises
Let’s start by hiding what needs to be hidden! For example, the neighbors, the garbage bin, the wheelbarrow at the back of the yard, the kids’ toys or the heat pump. Trellises will become your best allies this summer to give you privacy at any time of the day! Did you know? Expandable trellises are so easy to install, you can do it yourself in a couple minutes, using simple plastic ties.
If you like flowers and want to enhance your trellis, it is possible to add hibiscus stems or other outdoor artificial flowers. Just remember to choose UV treated flowers to prevent fading if you want to use them freely in the garden. Do the same with different outdoor artificial foliage, if you are not a fan of flowers!
Step 2 : use outdoor plants
To get the most greenery possible, decorate your outdoor tables with small plants or centerpieces. To achieve a Mediterranean decor, we opted for this tabletop green plant, the colors of its decorative pot reminds those you would see in Greece. Don’t be afraid to mix different textures and patterns for a bigger visual impact on your outdoor decoration!
Step 3 : hang outdoor flower baskets
Working your decor from above can also give an eye-catching effect! We’re actually in love with these hanging fuchsia azalea flowers. This hanging planter provides just the right amount of color without overpowering the rest of your outdoor space.
Step 4 : add the final touch with garden accents
Once you have all your plants in place, you can finish off your outdoor living decor, as we did, with garden accessories. We relied on this Buddha candle holder and a metal lantern to bring in a zen-like vibe to the whole patio decor. These are essential decorating accents to perfect an outdoor reading corner. You can also light them in the evening and read a good book!
Step 5 : protect your outdoor artificial plants
Finally, make sure to spray your artificial plants and flowers with a UV protection. This will protect them longer from discoloration caused by the sun. When choosing Véronneau’s outdoor plants, many models also offer a warranty of up to 2 years, and even up to 5 years for expandable trellises.
